Meet our Birth Photographer

Cherry Abusmas is a Certified Birth Photographer. Her mentors on birth photography are Isabell Steinert of Isabell Steinert Photography and Monet Nicole Moutrie & Jennifer Mason of Birth Becomes Her

As of date, she has documented more than 70 births already which includes delivery at the hospital (water birth, NSD and C-section), birthing center, maternity clinic, and home birth.

Ms. Cherry graduated with Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Master's Degree in Management. She is a part-time photographer and a full-time mom. Happily married to Richard since 2015 and blessed with a beautiful daughter named Kate.

In 2016, she gave birth at home inside a birthing pool through the help of amazing midwives from Shiphrah Birthing Home and supported by a Hyponobirth doula Irina Otmakhova. She's been an advocate of gentle and natural birth since then. After she attended a Birth Photography Workshop by Isabell Steninert, she realized that she has the heart and passion on documenting birth stories. She began her birth photography in January 2017. And earned her badge as Certified Birth Photographer in November 2017.

Ms. Cherry is also a Professional Newborn Photographer and do on-location sessions servicing Rizal areas and Merto Manila. She earned Newborn Photography Certifications and In-person Mentoring from Ana Brandt (Ana is a renowned & award-winning International newborn photographer based in California) and Fine Art Newborn & Maternity In-person Mentoring from Arianne Clark  (Arianne is a Styled newborn and maternity photogrpaher based in Germany) with continued learning support from other international newborn photographers. 

Ms. Cherry is a natural light photographer and also use studio light, specializing in Newborns through the First Year. She is well known for her beanbag poses and awesome wrapped prop setupswhich has created a style unique to her and her brand.

Ms. Cherry also loves helping other photographers grow in any way she can and is a very firm believer that Newborn Photographer should never stop learning! She is the founder and lead mentor at Newborn Photography Philippines Academy also known as NPPA. She founded a local community for fellow BabyTographers that is a safe place to help, support and grow while enjoying their passion.
